What’s In Store for 2025: Feng Shui & Beyond

Within the practice of classical Feng Shui, the Flying Star School can make predictions based on annual and monthly stars and cycles.  Practitioners can also borrow from other complementary systems to further determine how people will be influenced by their living spaces and cosmological realities which can affect many people similarly.

With Feng Shui in mind, 2025 will be the Year of the Snake. The Snake is also associated with the direction of South/Southeast. This specific 15-degree increment within the whole of Southeast is called the Tai Sui direction for 2025. Some call this energy the “Grand Duke.”  It is an unstable energy and where it lands in your house, that could be a problematic location to remodel in 2025.

It is best avoided or done with careful planning, choosing the best month and day of the year to start a remodel, in order to compensate for the poor yearly timing. Some folks don’t even want to enter a house in the direction of the Grand Duke or sleep with their head in that direction.  For my practice, I focus more on actual construction projects as being a true disturbance to this area.

Opposite the Tai Sui of the Snake in 2025 is the Pig direction of North/Northwest.  This is the 15-degree increment of Northwest which is closest to the cut-off point between Northwest and North.  These directions can only be identified accurately if you take a careful compass reading and work with a to-scale floor plan.

For me, 2024 was the Year of the Floor Plan App!  Clients clued me in on the various Floor Plan Apps available, making it easy for anyone to generate an accurate floor plan for Feng Shui purposes.  Guessing about directions is not good enough. The Pig Direction is also an unstable direction for 2025 and care should be taken if one needs to alter or disturb this area in any way during the year.  These are examples of using Feng Shui and Chinese astrology together.

The Chinese Calendar for Its Own Sake

The Snake and Pig are not just locations and not just yearly energies. We have Snake and Pig Months (May and November) and we have Snake and Pig days which repeat six days apart in perpetual order two to three times per month.  These time frames can also be applied to the timing of various activities, including installing feng shui remedies, or days to avoid important activities. 

And yet, based on personal birth data, the Snake or Pig Days might be very good and special for some people. All this needs to be taken into account. Just as one example, those born in a year ending in a “6” or an “8” have their personal Lu Cun Lucky Money days as Snake Days.  These can be good days for making money and taking financial risks.  This includes those born in 1966, 1968, 1976, 1978, 1986, 1988, 1996, 1998, 2006, 2008, etc).  We can assume that in general, the Snake Year can be a lucky Year financially for those born in “6” or “8” years. 

Keep in mind that your birth year is tabulated according to a Solar (not lunar) Calendar that begins on February 4^th. If someone is born in the month of January or the first few days in February, they are considered a year older, (from the previous year). As an example, if you were born in January 1968, you are really from the 1967 cycle and Snake days would not be your Lucky Money Days.

When a fellow consultant wanted to know about the 12 signs and a prediction for each in 2025, I reminded her that we have more than 12 signs.  Each sign (branch system in Chinese astrology) is paired with one of the Five Elements (stem system). This means we have 60 different Year signs and here we are only referring to the Year of birth.  There’s more.  A full Four Pillars Ba Zi chart incorporates Year, Month, Day and Hour of birth!

2025 is a Wood Snake year, which will affect all Snake People uniquely, such as the Metal Snake or the Water Snake person.  Likewise, The Wood Snake Year will affect an Earth Ox differently than a Metal Ox.  While it may make one person’s head spin to think about all these variables, this is the high level at which Chinese Astrology can be done, in the same way that there are Feng Shui practices more sophisticated and nuanced than other simpler practices.

2025 in Nine Star Ki

While it will be a Wood Snake Year in Chinese astrology, it will also be a 2 “Soil” Year in Nine Star Ki. Nine Star Ki tracks the same yearly and monthly stars as you find in Flying Star Feng Shui.  However, the interpretations are totally different and Nine Star Ki is all about the person and only in narrow circumstances referring to literal directions or physical space.

The Luo Shu Trend of a 2 Soil Year is that we will see 2 star-attributes take center stage in terms of global or even local events in your own community. This is a specific type of forecasting that is distinct from the personal Nine Star Ki readings done for the individual.

In the Big Picture, global type of forecasting, Nine Star Ki looks at a 2 Soil year as one where certain themes will take hold, prompted also by monthly cycles.  In Nine Star Ki, the 2 star can represent food. We may see some significant things happen in relation to the food and farming industries.  Just in the U.S. alone, if Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. becomes the Director of Health and Human Services, he will likely expose even more of the health hazards associated with the Big Food and Big Agriculture monopolies.  Regardless of that, we may also see some food shortages or even higher prices for food as a major topic.

The 2 star is also related to groups of people who have a common identity and that can include migrants, which is a global phenomenon and controversy. Once the U.S. begins its migrant deportation process in earnest, we may also see other equally frustrated countries follow through or try to administer similar policies. This in turn will not happen unchallenged. The 2 star (representing groups of people) can also symbolize protestors, with one type of likely protest: citizens who are against the deportation plans for millions of illegal migrants.

The 2 star is related to many types of health matters, education, medical establishments and hospitals. Other metaphysical arts also predict another virus-like pandemic. On the positive side, perhaps some medical breakthrough will be discovered or implemented which can spare lives or suffering from a disease.

This is just a small sampling of the types of things we can glean for 2025 whether it comes from Feng Shui, Chinese Astrology, or Nine Star Ki.
