Dear Uncle Dixer: We are renovating our house and dividing it into 2 units. My partner wants to use 2 heavy front doors for the interior connection between the 2 units.
It just feels wrong that the external front door is a single, flimsier door than the interior dividing doors. Are there any Feng Shui guidelines that could help?
Answer: Your feeling is correct. The front door should be the double door. It should be the more solid door when compared to the interior door that connects the two units. The interior door should be more discreet.
This way, there is a clear “main and secondary” relationship. Otherwise, more Qi will run between the two units than Qi coming in from the outside to nourish the inside.
